Great to have you here.

Who I am: an actor, singer, and entrepreneur based in Brooklyn, NY. Also a natural blonde.

What I’ve done: lots! Some things more relevant than others. There’s a whole lot of exciting and eclectic theater work from Shakespeare to American classics, opera to vaudevillian showtunes, devising new work and devising new work based on very very old work, and a lot in between. This will get boring fast - if you actually care let’s talk off the website or check here.

What I’m interested in: Quintessentially American sounds and stories, whatever the hell that means. Truly feminine (feminist) art and storytelling. Sondheim, Sondheim, Sondheim. Golden-Age Musicals.* What makes a play political, i.e., obviously, The Crucible is but how about Streetcar? Characters/people who are trying their absolute darndest to win their own version of freedom. Any piece that will help us get through our own bizarre moment in history.

*(My love for these old shows was not sparked in any erudite way. Classic movie musicals were the only kid friendly movies our local library stocked and my mother let me check one out each week, thus those songs and stories were imprinted on me at a deeply impressionable age. Had we paid to rent actual kids movies, I might have turned out well-adjusted with an office job. Sorry, Mom.)

**Stay tuned for news on my piece based on Rita Booth’s fight for stardom. Rita was a real-life 19th century actress who claimed to be John Wilkes Booth’s daughter.**

Why I’m bothering with this website: All of us are only as good as our next collaborator. I want to give you a tiny taste of who I am on this corner of the internet in hopes we can work IRL. I’d love to hear from you via good old email - sarahjordanhupper@gmail.com.

You’re not a real New Yorker unless you’re Zillowing real estate elsewhere.
